Sirajganj: A schoolchild died at Shrikola bus stand corner at Ullahpara amidst clashes between police and pro-hartal activists. 15 people were reported wounded including 5 policemen. The deceased was identified as Mahfuz (14), son of Azizul Haque of Folia village in Purnimagathi union of Ullahpara. He was a student of class 9 of Folia school.
Satkhira: Two brothers were martyred when BGB opened fire at pro-hartal procession in Satkhira at Kolarowa. Another activist was later reported to have died in hospital in clashes where at least seven have been reported bullet ridden.
The two brothers were identified as Ruhul Amin(53) and Arif billah (20). They are both sons of Rahim Bakhsh of Ofapur village of Kolarowa upazila. Shamsur Rahman (40) son of Jaha Bakhsh of Koigram, was later reported to have died in hospital from injuries sustained in the clashes.
Dhaka: Activists of Jamaat and its
student front, Islami Chhatra Shibir, clashed with police in Kamalapur in the
morning. Police fired several rounds to bring the situation under control. Bdnews24 said that amidst the skirmish, a Grade-8 student of the Bangladesh Bank High School, Junaedul Haq
Tonmoy, an innocent bystander, was injured. Shotgun splinters hit him on the left side of his
face. Tonmoy was standing in his veranda when the pitched battles were being
fought. A police officer said the 13-year-old had been admitted to the
Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).
