Basherkella rises from the ashes!

It was a story unlike any another. The story of a phoenix. A phoenix of the modern world. The facebook page basherkella had been closed today for the second time in recent memory after being closed down before February the 12th 2013. According to news agencies, the page is said to be reported by Jamaat and Shibir activists who have a different view to that of the government and try to report the excesses committed by it. The large following of this page suggests a popular support base.

According to the banglanews website, a report says that,"After the news report published by banglanews, the government has closed the facebook page Basherkella, which had a following of 1 lakh and 25 thousand likes. On Thursday, the Bangladesh Telecommunication Regulatory Commission (BTRC) closed down the facebook page. This was conveyed to banglanews in the evening by intelligence sources and sources from the BTRC. The sources further said on Wednesday, after banglanews published an investigative news report titled " বাঁশেরকেল্লা থেকে রেলে নাশকতার পরিকল্পনা! / Vandalism plans of Rail network started on Basherkella! ", various government agencies looked into the matter. On Thursday, the facebook page was closed down in a drive against anti-state and cyber crimes operations"

However just like the phoenix that rises from the ashes, Basherkella rose too. It started again from scratch and rose from the ashes at around 17:30 pm. News agency banglanews further reports, "On the other hand, after Basherkella was closed, a new facebook page was opened under the same name. This was reported at around 17:30 pm local time. On a post was written, "সরকার বাঁশেরকেল্লা আবার বন্ধ করে দিয়েছে। বাঁশেরকেল্লা পরিবার আবার আমাদের মাঝে ফিরে আসছে। সবাই like দিয়ে জালিম সরকারের মুখে বাঁশ দিন। / The government has closed down Basherkella. The Basherkella family has again risen in our midst. Everybody 'like' the new page to give it a strong message and uncover the dictatorial face of this government’’

A little investigation gave the following details. The page was opened at 17:21 pm local BD Time. Around an hour later it had more than 7000 likes. Exactly after 2 hours it had 17500 plus likes. At 2 hours 40 minutes, the facebook followers crossed 22000. At exactly three hours, the number of followers was at 24, 079.

I hope that Basherkella plays a positive role in bringing about a revolution in Bangladesh through positive and constructive criticism.Congratulations to a family that did not surrender.

Basherkella has indeed risen from the ashes!
